Last week one of our Porous Permeable Paving crews flew to Rockhampton, Queensland to install porous stone paving over 190 square metres in the beautiful Rockhampton Botanic Gardens.
As arborists we appreciate the importance of trees receiving an appropriate amount of water to survive and thrive and in Queensland, with the extreme heat and regular droughts it can be challenging. This why we are so passionate about the benefits of installing porous permeable paving in areas where there are significant or heritage trees rather than the more common asphalt or concrete ground coverings.
There are a number of Porous Permeable Paving products each with their own benefits – find out more here https://www.heritagetreecare.com.au/what-we-do/porous-paving/
- Water soaks down through to the soil below rather than running off or forming into large puddles.
- Can be safely installed around tree roots
Permeable Paving and Water Sensitive Urban Design provide significant benefits to trees and the structures that surround them, providing you with healthier trees and preventing conflict between tree roots and structures. Our permeable surfaces can be installed on structural load bearing cells to eliminate soil compaction and encourage healthier root growth at a greater depth which also prevents damage to pavements, roads and carparks.
